Press Release: Tess Prendergast to be Nominated as Dufferin—Caledon Provincial Liberal Candidate




Orangeville, ON - The Dufferin—Caledon Provincial Liberal Association is proud to announce that Tess Prendergast will officially be nominated as the Ontario Liberal Party's candidate for the upcoming provincial election in Dufferin—Caledon. The nomination meeting will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Caledon Village Place, located at 18313 Hurontario St, Caledon Village, ON.


Tess Prendergast is a dedicated community leader, currently serving as a Councillor for the Town of Orangeville. A passionate advocate for public services and environmental sustainability, Prendergast brings her extensive experience in education, social justice, and municipal governance to the provincial stage. She previously ran as a candidate in the 2022 provincial election and has long been engaged in local politics and community development, focusing on issues such as affordable housing, healthcare, and accessible public transit.

A proud resident of Orangeville since 2011, Prendergast has consistently worked to connect people with the resources they need, striving to make her community a more inclusive and prosperous place for all. Her priorities reflect Liberal values, with a focus on creating strong public services, promoting economic opportunities, and ensuring that government decisions are transparent and accountable. As a French teacher and librarian, she has a deep commitment to improving education, public health, and the environment, and aims to bring these values into the provincial legislature.


The nomination event will mark an important milestone in Prendergast's journey to represent the residents of Dufferin—Caledon, as she aims to bring fresh perspectives and a strong voice for the community to Queen’s Park.
